Paris, Thomas de Leu, late 16th-early 17th c
23 engravings, various dimensions, laid paper, several with address: "Thomas de Leu excudit." (traces of former binding at left edge, margins slightly browned).
Good impressions with wide margins.
Both published by the Flemish Thomas de Leu (1555-1612) who was mainly active in Paris. 1. Monogrammist NB - Solitudo sive vitae foeminarum anachoritarum. 1606. 11 engravings from a series of 25 (title plate, n. 1-5, 7, 13-16), ca. 16,5 x 20,3 cm, all with Latin text in lower margin, signed "NB" and dated on the title plate. Copies in reverse after the engravings by Adriaen Collaert, Johannes Baptista Collaert and Cornelis Galle I after Maarten de Vos. Ref. Hollstein XLIV.197-202.921-945, copy e. - 2. Charpy, Emundus and De Leu, Thomas - Trophaeum vitae solitariae. Ca. 1598-1612. 12 engravings from a series of 26 (title plate, n. 1-5, 15-16, 18, 20, 23-24), ca. 15,1 x 19,9 cm, all with serial mark 1 at bottom right and Latin text in lower margin, 1 signed "Emundus Charpy fe.", without the prints signed by De Leu.
