19th-c. gilt dark green morocco, covers with double gilt ruled border and gilt corner pieces, richly gilt flat spine with havana label, gilt sides, a.e.g., double gilt inside ruled border. Nice copy.
First edition illustrated with woodcuts of the popular "Pia desideria" of the Flemish Jesuit Hugo (1588-1629). 46 full-page woodcut emblems by Chr. van Sichem (1581-1658). Woodcut arms of Urbanus VIII. Title within woodcut border.
