Oblong folio: 12 pp. + 113 etched pl. (text pp. wavy, few pp. and pl. with light stains, sm. repairs or trimmed inside platemark).
Mounted in cardboard and cloth guards, in mod. three-quarter sheep signed J. Van Wetswinkel, Diest with label gold-stamped "OUDT HUNGARYEN / ENDE / H. LANDT", decorated spine with raised bands, decorated endpapers (spine rubbed). Good impressions. Very rare collection with more plates than other recorded copies.
Atlas with views related to the Great Turkish War, Mediterranean views and views of biblical places. Each recorded copy was published without title and has a different composition. Our copy contains 12 pp. with Dutch descriptions of the towns, 5 equestrian portraits after Pieter Stevens, 10 scenes from the Siege of Vienna after Romeyn de Hooghe, 54 views of fortified towns in Austria and Hungary by Gaspar Bouttats (incl. Budapest, Constantinople), 32 Mediterranean views by Lucas Vorsterman I and Conrad Lauwers after Jan Peeters (incl. Tunis, Malta, Alexandria) and 12 views of biblical places by Gaspar Bouttats after Jan Peeters (incl. Jerusalem, Mecca).
