Very rare variant of Homann's Atlas Minor. The engr. title "Atlas Novus Terrarum Orbis Imperia, Regna et Status exactis tabulis geographicae demonstrans" and the letterpress title from Homann’s "Atlas cosmographicus major, sistens mundum universum tam coelum […], quam terram" are here used for J. Hübners’s school edition, as is clear from the 2nd letterpress title “Kleiner Atlas von funfzig auserlesenen Homanns Land-Charten”. With the engraved allegorical title by Caspar Luycken and 57 double-page maps (8 maps more than listed on the printed index, i.e. the same number of the handwritten index, except for a 2nd map "8 bis" of the British Isles). Incl. a world map, 4 maps of the continents, 51 country or regional maps, a map of the Holy Land. Printing privilege and the "Introductio ad geographiam". Maps extra to the printed index: Venice, Genua, Theatrum belli Rhenani, Hanau (J. Chr. Homann, 1728), Fulda, Bamberg, Bavaria, Salzburg. The title and most of the maps are early issues before the publishing house had its name changed to Homann Erben (from 1730).
