First edition by the Swiss architect Herbort (1702-1757). Ill. with a front.-portrait, an engr. headpiece and 21 fold. engr. plates Herbort received his training in Hungary and entered Imperial service to be trained in fortress architecture under Colonel Nicolas Doxat. In 1730 he became head of fortifications in the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. Title in red & black.
