8vo: 196-[8] ff. (ff. 142-155-159-178 with woodcuts lacking; light damp stains, larger to last ff., some sl. soiling, hole in lower margin of f. 167 and sm. ones in lower margins of last ff.).
Contemp. Italian Renaissance binding: calf, covers entirely gilt orn. with frames of roll-stamp and fillets and with central tools, front cover titled "Il Pe // Trar", blind and gilt decorated spine with raised bands, gilt gauffered edges (head and tail skilfully repaired, sm. parts rubbed).
Extr. rare edition of the "Canzioniere" and "Triumphs". Contains also poems addressed to Petrarch by Geri Gianfigliazzi, Giovanni Dondi dall'Orgoglio, Sennuccio del Bene, Giacomo Colonna (each with the first line of Petrarch's reply) and songs by Guido Cavalcanti, Dante Alighieri and Cino da Pistoia. Illustrated with 2 full-page woodcuts. Title within an architectural border. Mark of Sessa at colophon.
