Jansenist brown morocco signed J. Canape, spine on 5 raised bands (joints faintly rubbed), pink silk and gilt dentelle on inner covers, pink silk endpapers, gilt sides, a.e.g., matching slipcase. Very good copy.
Impression in microscopic type by Guiraudet and Jouaust. Ill. with a woodcut frontisp. titled "Salvator Mundi". Beautiful binding by J. Canape, active Paris c. 1865-1894.
