2 parts in 1 vol. folio: [16, front. incl.]-586 (= 594)-[29], [4]-1/96-[2]-97/174-[7] pp.; 14 (of 18) pl. (small wears, some pp. slightly yellowed, margin of p. 279 stained, dampstains in inner margins, last quire of the vol. partly disbound, some pp. mispaginated).

Cont. vellum, blind ruled covers with central lozenge shaped tool, gilt decorated spine on raised bands, brown leather label, blue sprinkled edges. Excellent copy.

First edition, complete with 2nd part, of this important legal handbook on the Belgian nobility and their devices by Christyn (1622-1690). With many documents in Latin, Dutch and French. Engr. ills: front. by P. Danoot after Fr. Quellin, title-vign. by P. Clouwet, "Schema metalloum", 33 headpieces (15, 18), 21 tailpieces (9, 12) s, 5 full-page portraits, 14 double-page genealogical tables and +/- 120 ills in text (mostly coat-of-arms).
