Oblong 4to: title and 7 plates (spotting throughout, esp. on blank margins).

Blue paper wrappers with cloth reinforcements to joints and corners.

7 etchings representing the walls and ceiling frescoes painted by Giulio Romano in the "Camera dei Giganti", most famous and spectacular rooms of Palazzo Te, finished between 1532 and 1535. The frescoes represent the Fall of the Giants, story taken from The Metamorphoses of Ovid. Giulio Romano (ca. 1499-1546) was a pupil of Raphael. The engraver from Perugia, Santi Bartoli (1635-1700), is famous for his engravings of ancient monuments, esp. in Rome.
Joined: De Rossi, Giovanni Giacomo - Landscape after Titian: chalcography (late reprint), 25 x 33 cm, wove paper, dry stamp "Calcografia Camerale" (foxed, fold on top margin, sl. creased). (2 pcs)
