Folio: [3 (of 4)]-CII-[3 (of 4)] ff. (blank a4 and R8 lacking, foxing, marginal dampstain in 2 ff. at the beginning, t.-p. sl. soiled, occasional marginal soiling, wormholes in first and last ff.).

17th-c. vellum, flat spine, blue edges (two small wormholes, lower cover def. at the edge). Large paper copy.

First edition of the main work of Arnobius (c. 300), a Christian apologist, written to convince the local bishop of the sincerity of his new beliefs. It was edited by Fausto Sabeo and also contains the "Octavius" by Minutius Felix, which for a long time was considered as Arnobius' eighth book. Ref.
