Contemp. green morocco by an unidentified Dutch bindery, probably at Leiden (sl. rubbed, a few sm. tears), covers with central gilt flower tool ornament within double gilt flower ornamental frame, gilt flower orn. spine with 5 raised bands (sl. discoloured, sl. rubbed), red leather title label, gilt sides, gilt gauffered edges. Very good copy on large paper, in a beautiful (presentation?) binding.

First edition of this life of Moses in verse, the only publication by the Rotterdam merchant N. Versteeg (1704-1773). Engr. ill.: embl. mark on title, armorial pl. at dedication and large portrait of the author with a poem by D. Bruyninx, all engr. by R. Vinkeles.
