2nd edition (1st. 1722) of this rather rare emblem book on the customs and hardships of early christians in the Roman Empire. Engr. ills: title vign. by F. De Bakker on title, 92 double-page pl. by Jan Luyken. The pl. are those used in G. Arnold, "Eerste christenen" (1700), here in 2nd state.
