Two letters of Dutch bishops.

1. Van Velde tot Melroy en Sart-Bomal, Jan Baptist Robert, Baron - Autograph letter, Dutch, to an unnamed priest. Brussels, 10 January 1816. Paper, ca. 23 x 19 cm, 1 leaf. Thanking for New Year’s wishes. Baron van Velde (1743-1824) was a Mechelen canon and the last Bishop of Roermond (1794-1801, resigned). - 2. Van Wykerslooth van Schalkwijk, Cornelius Ludovicus, Baron - Autograph letter, Dutch, to William, Prince of Orange (later William II of the Netherlands, 1792-1849). Duinzigt onder Oegstgeest, 30 September 1836. Paper bifolium, ca. 29,5 x 19 cm, [1, 3 bl.] pp. Requesting permission to cross the (new!) Dutch-Belgian border in Zutphen, together with his company. Van Wykerslooth (1786-1851) was Bishop of Curium (Cyprus - a titular see) from 1832-1851.
