Illustrated with 72 nice tinted lithographs, some partly heightened : 1 title and 71 plates depicting Edinburgh views and monuments (Holyrood Palace, Moray House, Greyfriars Kirkyard...), Roslin Castle, Dunbar, Gilnockie Tower, Balmoral, Loch Eck, etc. The first edition was published in 1847-1854.
