Rare educational manual, a "mirror of good manners", for young novices of the Franciscan order, ascribed to Saint Bonaventura (d. 1294). A "school of virtue", with advice for progress in a virtuous life is added, as well as a letter, written to a "brother-in-Christ", containing 25 admonitions on how to preserve a holy life and turn away from the world, also by Bonaventura. The translator, also a Franciscan, was vicar in Mechelen. Gothic type. Woodcut printer's mark on title.
