Gouache on vellum, 15 x 12 cm, unsigned (dampstained).
Under contemp. orn. wooden frame.
The Virgin Mary playing with the Christ child. An angel in the left background observes the scene. The compostion with the playful child and the classical Doric column with relief of St John the Evangelist on the right background seems to have been loosely based on similar compositions of Jan Gossaert.
