Contemp. English panelled calf, covers with blind-ruled frames and gilt border, richly gilt spine with 5 raised bands with gilt morocco label, gilt sides (skilfully repaired, some def. and scratches, corners bumped, mod. endpapers). Very good copy.

5th ed. (1st 1551) of the famous Latin Bible translation of Sébastien Castellion (1515-1563), together with his passionate defence (II:423-506). Oval engraved portrait of Castellion on title. Woodcut mark at the end. Title in red and black.
