First edition of this rare study made for the Theresian Academy of Brussels, by the Abbott Mann (1735-1809), member of this academy and canon in the collegiate church of Kortrijk. He was sent to England to examine methods invented by Hartley and Lord Mahon. 1 engr. in text.

Issued in 225 copies, ill. with 19 photographic pl. by Julien Philippart, Sergeant-Major in the volunteer fire brigade. The author was Captain-Commandant of the fire brigade of Tournai. Nice copy.
