It relates the events that took place during his government, incl. the conquest of Northern Brazil. Engr. ill.: allegoric title by van Meurs, a portrait after G. van Honthorst, 33 double-page plates (some folding) showing views, military scenes or city plans of "Laach", "Groll", "Bergen op Zoom en Steenbergen", "Wesel", "Thienen", "Sas van Gent", etc. The large folding plate (part 2, p. 215) depicting Frederick Hendrick's funeral procession is missing. It comprises the frontispiece after J. de Gheyn, the coat of arms and portrait by J. Matham of prince Maurits, but it lacks all siege plans.
