A reprint of the series of 119 woodcuts, after the original designs (1517) by Burgkmair, representing the Saints associated with the House of Habsburg. This was the very first impression of the complete set of the original woodblocks, which were preserved at the imperial library in Vienna (now Albertina). The plates are preceded by an introduction and an alphabetical list of the woodcuts. This copy had belonged to the private collection of the Belgian painter Gustaaf Wappers (1803-1874). Ref.
