Beschrijving lot

Munich, 10/9/1745

In Latin, expertly calligraphed on vellum, 32,5 x 24,5 cm, [6] ff., black ink, written within ruled border (some sm. stains).

Crimson velvet over boards, four yellow silk closing ribbons preserved, large red wax pendant seal in a luxurious golden brass case with chiseled coat of arms, attached cord in yellow silk and gold thread, under original wooden case covered with red paper, red cloth inside, two metallic hooks (3 black ribbons missing, case very used with woodworm and some lacks of paper, remains of label).

Confirmation of nobility and creation of arms granted by Maximilian III Joseph (1727-1777), Elector of Bavaria (from Jan. 1745 to his death), to Lambertus Halenus, son of Johan Halenus and Pascale Everard, a patrician family of Liège, as a reward for his services as captain of the Walloon regiment of the Prince-Elector of Bavaria and Emperor Charles VII (1742-1745), father of Maximilian III Joseph. Signed: "Max: Jos: Elect.", Franciscus Andreas L.B. de Praidlohn and Joannes Georgius de Öchsel. On f. 4r, painted gilt arms, full-page; f. 1r decorated with flowers, fruits and foliage on the first line and arabesques between each line, in black ink. In good condition.
