Second volume of the second edition of Mortier's Dutch counterfeiting of the "Atlas Nouveau" by Alexis-Hubert Jaillot (1st ed. 1692), issued in partnership with the French emigrant Marc Huguetan. In his attempt to complete the "Atlas Nouveau", Mortier added for the two volumes of the second edition 12 extra plates, 7 in the first vol. and 5 in the second. Three of these five plates are missing in our copy; in particular: the "Nouvelle introduction à la géographie [...]", the "Seconde partie du cours de la Meuse [...]" and the "Theatre de la guerre sur le Rhein, Moselle, Mayn & le Necker". Engr. ills: title, table covering the content of both vols and 65 maps, mainly on double pages, coloured and representing the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Poland, Spain, Italy, Hungary and Turkey, as well as biblical maps of the Holy Land and the Egyptian desert.
