Contemp. overl. vellum, flat spine, sp. edges (a few sm. stains on cover). Very nice copy.

First edition (repr. Augsburg/Dillingen 1688) of an extensive work by the Bruges Jesuit Jan de Tollenaere (1582-1653), written in a mixture of Latin verse and prose, and dedicated to Nicolaas Rockox. Fine engr. allegorical title by Karel de Mallery after Cornelis Schut (i.a. showing Death shooting an arrow).
