Contemp. blind-decorated calf with gilt delphin on covers, spine with raised bands (rubbed, tail def.).

Early Lyon ed. of the 1st ethnographic compendium of the Early Modern period in Europe, compiled by the German humanist canon of Ulm Cathedral Johann Boemus (1485-1534). It also offers a compact history and geography of the world, esp. of European countries, but there are also chapters on Africa and Asia. Printed in italics. Woodcut mark on title.
