4th state of this map of the Low Countries by P. Verbiest. West at top. Cartouche rather poorly engraved. Title in a rectangular panel; on top Hermes and 2 putti, below many tools. Legend near left border in cartouche held by winged putti. Near bottom border 2 men handling measuring-instruments (poorly engr.). Compass-rose with 16 rhumblines and 8 names of the wind directions. Decorative upper and side borders with panoramical views of 17 cities: Limburg, Ghent, Luxemburg, Antwerpen, Bruxel, Amstelredam, Nimmegen, Utrecht, Middelburch, Namen, Mechelen, Atrecht, Berghen, Zutphen, Liewaerd, Groeningen & Deventer.
