Contemp. half sheep, mottled yellow paper on boards, gilt filletted spine with raised bands, red title-label, red sp. edges (rubbed, boards stained, min. damage on lower turn-in).
Collection of 6 "mémoires" about genealogy of Ghent families, handwritten by the priest and genealogist J.-B. Wemaer (Bruges 1734-1802 Ghent), a little known compiler who collaborated with Canon Hellin. The author is identified by 2 old ms. notes. Contains: proofs for the reception in the Order of Malta for Emmanuel-Joseph-Louis and Jean-Baptiste Borluut (1768 and 1770), and for de Lichtervelde (1780), nobility diplomas of the family van der Meersche, - civil status extracts for the families Dons, Vilain XIIII, Vaernewyck, - genealogy of the family van Wyckhuuse, - extracts from archives de Haverskercke. Ill. with 6 coats of arms, sketched with pen and ink and enhanced with watercolour.
