Beschrijving lot

All around 25,5 x 20 cm, titled and signed by the photographer on lower part of the photos.

Under passe-partout and frame (one without glass).

1. Ile de Phylae. 1er pylone du Temple. - 2. Ascension de la grande piramide. Two photos by the Turkish-born photographer Pascal Sébah (1823-1886). The second photo shows tourists clamber upon the massive blocks of the Great Pyramid of Giza, guided by local Egyptians. Discovering the pyramids was a midpoint of the journey to Egypt. Travelers could literally come into contact with the past. This print bears the signature of Pascal Sébah’s brother Cosimi, who took over the studio after Pascal’s death. The negative was likely created by the Frenchman Emile Béchard, however, who worked for the Sébah studio in Egypt.
Joined: 1. Zangaki (Brothers) - Hieroglyphs on the enclosure wall of the Temple of Horus. Albumen print, 26,5 x 21,5 cm, titled and signed by the photographer on the lower part of the photo. Under passe-partout. Framed. - 2. Hieroglyphs on a tomb. Albumen print, 17,6 x 24,7 cm, titled, not signed (?) on the lower part of the photo. Under passe-partout, framed. (4 pcs)
