1 (of 2) vol., 4to: [32]-280 pp.; 23 pl. (foxing, extensive one some ff., yellowish copy, some ff. browned, soiling on occ. ff., marg. wormtrack or wormholes).
Contemp. half sheep, decorated paper on covers, flat spine orn. with gilt roll-stamps, red spr. edges (rubbed, wormholes to spine).
First edition of the first part of this nice illustrated work by Rivautella (1708-1753) and Ricolvi (1712-1748) describing the archeological and epigraphical monuments of Turin. Illustrated with 23 plates (9 fold.) depicting marble sculptures, friezes and parts of monuments with Latin inscriptions. Occ. woodcut ill. in-text; headpiece to dedication showing the two sides of a medal, one with the portrait of dedicatee, Charles Emmanuel III of Savoy. Some parts of text in Greek.
