Contemp. blind-stamped calf over wood, bevelled edges, covers with central panel (front: Crucifixion, dated 1586 and initials MB[?]; back: Resurrection) and roll stamps, spine with 4 raised bands, dark edges, metal catches (clasps gone, sm. def. to head). Good copy.

Extensive collection of 20 German sermons on the Lord’s Passion, and 20 on the Resurrection, by the Lutheran preacher and hymn writer Vischer (or Fischer) (1518-1598). 42 sm. woodcuts. Woodcut mark on title. Title in red and black; text in Gothic type.
