Very rare illustrated Latin version of a devotional work by the Freiburg Dominican Bertholdus (fl. 1257-1296), originally written in German ("Das andachtige Zeitglöcklein des Lebens und Leidens Christi"). The present ed. has longtime been classified as an incunable, but is now dated "ca. 1503". With 35 woodcuts (incl. repeats): 3 larger ones (title, verso of title, end) and 32 smaller ones, most of them in rather nice but not contemp. colouring. Printed in Gothic type.
