First edition of this romantic description of Scotland by Doctor Pichot (1795-1877), friend and translator of Walter Scott. Lithogr. illustrations by Fr. A. Pernot : title vignette, 60 plates and 12 large tailpieces figuring the castles of Berwick, Dunbar and Linlithgow, Melrose Abbey, Abbotsford, Edinburgh, Loch Lomond, Glasgow, etc.
