Etching, 20,5 x 34,1 cm, laid paper, signed in plate at lower margin "F. Vander Meulen, pinx. et ex. cum priuil. Regis" and "V. HB S" (trimmed just outside the platemark, sm. brown stain at right edge).

A fallen horse on its knees, seen almost in profile and facing left. From a series of studies of horses wounded in a battle (10 pl.). Second and final state with painter's name in the middle of the lower margin.
