Modern binding : dark brown morocco, gilt titled spine on 5 raised bands, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers, silk marker. In slipcase.

First edition of the translation by the Italian theologian Ambrose Traversari of Camaldoli (1386-1439) of the 39 sermons of the Syriac hymnographer and theologian St Ephrem (306-373).
