S.l., s.n., 1868

16 albumen prints, 8 x 5 (2) or 16,5 x 20 cm (14), pasted on cardboard 30,5 x 38 cm (cardboards sl. fox.).

Loose in grey paper portfolio titled "XIV stationes" (sl. fox. and stained).

Very rare (probably unique) portfolio consisting of the portraits of the artists Louis Hendrix (1827-1888) and Frans Vinck (1827-903) and a suite of 14 sepia photographic plates of the paintings executed in 1864-1868 by the painters for the Blessed Sacrament Chapel in the Our Lady's Cathedal of Antwerp. "Under the supervision of Henri Leys the panels were painted in a historical realistic style by Louis Hendrix (stations 1-4, 12-14) and Frans Vinck (stations 5-11). The narrative character of the passion is supported here by a continuous background, so that each scene becomes a part of an uninterrupted serial story" (TOPA vzw). Autograph dedication of the photographer to "Den heere Baron H. Leys Kunstschilder", dated 14/8/1869 (Leys died on 26/8/1869!). Cl. Ommeganck (1827-1905, fl. 1857-1905) was an Antwerp chemist. "A technically very skilful photographer, he acquired renown in the early 1860s" (Steven e.a.).
