Very rare third ed. (1st 1559) of an early work of commercial arithmetic, containing perhaps the oldest printed tables of compound interest. It is divided into three books: (1) fundamental operations with integers and fractions, with applications; (2) the rule of three, with applications; (3) the properties of numbers, roots, and progression, and notes on discount. This part is followed by a chapter on exchange, and an explanation of the method of calculating with counters. A number of woodcut diagrams. Woodcut mark on title.
