Contemp. calf (corners rubbed and bumped), gilt orn. spine with 5 raised bands (joints starting to split or rubbed, tail def.), marbled endpapers, red edges.

First French translation of "Heelkonstige ontleeding" (1718) by the Flemish physician J. Palfijn (1650-1730). Ill. with an engr. headpiece by J.B. Scotin depicting the coat of arms of the dedicatee, Count Jules Visconti Borromeo, and 40 full-page anatomical pl.
