Later impression after the original negative of one of the pictures of "Mechanical Head, the Spirit of our Time", a wooden sculpture by the Austrian Hausmann (1886-1971), a leader of Berlin Dada, along with George Grosz, John Heartfield, Hannah Höch and Richard Huelsenbeck. "La tête en bois est ornée de divers ustensiles, dont un morceau de mètre de couturière et un petit carton blanc portant le chiffre 22, collés sur le front pour évoquer un esprit du temps réduit à une simple "signification numérique". Hausmann s’inscrit dans une veine dada corrosive et antibourgeoise, non exempte d’une fascination contradictoire pour le monde des machines et l’idée d’un homme nouveau" (Centre Pompidou).
