1 (of 2) vol., obl. folio: [80 incl. title] ff.; 132 maps (some parts of table and marg. of title missing, tear without loss in the plan of the battle of Denain and map of the Isle of Wight, occ. spotting or soiling, some edges sl. frayed).
Contemp. sheep, flat spine (spine rebacked, front joint split, boards and spine heavily rubbed, corners bumped).
Originally de Fer published his "Atlas curieux" in 6 issues between 1700 and 1705. Later, he re-assembled the maps in an atlas in 2 parts. Our copy is the second part only of this later edition, complete for this part with 132 maps, plans and views: maps of many European countries (o.a. the Low Countries, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the British Isles, etc.), some maps of parts of Asia (o.a. the East Indies and the Philippines), Africa (the Eastern, Western and the Southern part) and America (o.a. Canada, California and the Antilles), plans of numerous cities (Amsterdam, London, Rome, Mexico, etc) and some views and plates (o.a. Vienna, a portrait of the King of Spain and the Palace of Madrid, the coats of arms of Swiss, etc.). Many with an engraved text leaf.
