2 vol., large folio: 8 ff., 136 (of 137) maps in vol. 1, 95 (of 96) maps in vol. 2 (2 pl. missing: 44ab. Vlaardingen and 43. Tabula praelii prope Neoportum, pl. 34 and 36: different order of the engr., indexes with pencil notes by a modern hand, a few ff. browned, esp. Tiel, Edam, Dunkerque, dampstained margins, some margins and corners repaired, brown marg. stain in the Royal Netherlands from the beginning to the Luxembourg section, some sm. spots and occ. a sm. hole).
Contemp. overl. ivory vellum, gilt-decorated covers with central medallion and flat spines (sm. tear and some defects on spine vol. 1, otherwise sm. defects and some stains). Large paper copy.
Rare variant of the second Latin edition of Blaeu's town atlas of both the Royal and the United Netherlands with 232 engr. maps. Intermediate variant compared to those described in the literature: without signatures for the 1st 4 maps, with Warneton and Nieuwenhove printed on separate lvs (n. 60 and 61), with the engr. title as in variant A, Artois as in variant B, and the text and plates of Jülich and Lingen divided over the 2 vol. (I: [Jülich S1611:43], [Lingen:43], [Lingen S1597:43], II: [Jülich:43], [Lingen S1605:43]).
