Deluxe folio edition (a 4to ed. was also published the same year at the same address) with the same copper-engravings as in the ed. of 1746 published in The Hague: 31 nice plates by J. van der Schley, Picart, Fokke and Tanjé after Coypel, Cochin fils, Trémolières, Boucher and Lebas, with captions and numb. with Roman numerals. Title in red and black, text within a frame, copper-engr. title-vignette and armorial headpiece, wood-engr. initials and tailpieces. The compositions of Coypel conceived as paintings in the years 1715-1720 were used in several 18th-c. editions.
