Contemp. half calf, sp. paper on covers, gilt orn. spine with 5 raised bands, black leather title label (corners rubbed). Uncut copy.
Second Dutch ed. (resissue of "Dierkundig mengelwerk", Utrecht, A. van Paddenburg and J. van Schoonhoven, 1770) translated and annotated by P. Boddaert from the Latin "Miscellanea Zoologica" (first 1766) by the Prussian zoologist and botanist who worked in Russia P.S. Pallas (1741-1811). Illustrated with 10 full-page hand-coloured engraved plates by or after J.J. Bylaert, J. Van Hiltrop and J.B.G. Hopfer, finished with gum arabic, depicting a.o. bats and deer.
