Italy, 17th c
Gouache, watercolour, gilt and gold leaf on openwork pattern in parchment, backed with tissue, perls and embroidery with gold and silver thread, 31,6 x 26,4 cm, mounted on cardboard (some wormwork and mildew).
In the centre a dressed hand-coloured image of Saint Cecilia, patroness of music and musicians, surrounded with the openwork painted pattern within a painted floral border.Some openings in the frame providing a place for the deposit of a reliquary, some preserved. Impressive piece of devotionalia.
