Description du lot
[Paris, F. Delamarche; Ch. Dien, 1821]
Engr.: 2 polar calottes and 12 gores on a sphere, diam. 25 cm, with hand-coloured out-lining and varnished (a few scrapes and a sl. uneven surface).
Supported in an engr. graduated papermarche meridian ring with on top a small graduated hour ring with a metal pointer. Mounted in a papermache horizon ring. Wooden baluster stand, overall height 54 cm, with 4 protruding arms, each engr. with latitudes and longitudes from the Paris meridian for several cities (some paint loss on meridan and horizon ring).
Late Louis XV globe, resulting from the cooperation between F. Delamarche and Ch. Dien. De Vaugondy globes seem remarkably scarce.
