Contemp. quarter brown sheep, marbled paper on covers, gilt orn. flat spines, black leather title labels, sp. edges. Wide-marginated good copy.

Second edition of the French translation of "The Northern Courts" (1st 1818) by Brown (fl. 1818). Ill. with 2 fold. lithographed views by Engelmann of Christiansborg palace and Stockholm, 2 lithographed portraits by Engelmann of Queen Mathilde and her husband King Christian VII, and 5 engr. portraits by Delvaux: King Gustave III, Baron d'Armfeld, Gustave IV, Charles-Jean and Catherine II of Russia.
