First edition. Binding design, typographic lay-out and ornaments by Henry van de Velde. Ed. limited to 1250 copies. One of the 150 on Japan paper (n. 133), with the splendid doubled-page title, smaller ornaments and some words printed in gold and black and with the leather binding matching with Japan paper copies (impression in brown and black and half vellum binding for ordinary copies). "Smaller and quieter than the 'Zarathustra', the 'Ecce Homo' features a decorative title-page combining van de Velde's swelling abstract ornaments with his own lettering" (The Turn of a Century).
