Rare second edition (1st: 1582), and the first printed by the Giunti, of the novel written by the Franciscan Evangelista Marcellino (1530-1593), under the pseudonym of Lorenzo Selva. According to Graesse, the first edition was disavowed by the author because of its many faults and hence the Giunti edition (ours) was preferred. Historiated and ornamental initials; printer's mark on verso of last leaf.
