Description du lot
4 engravings, 21 x 26 cm, laid paper with watermark (Gothic P with trefoil, Briquet: 8616), signed in the plate "HMuller fecit" (some lesser inking of the plate at plate edges of pl. 1).
Mounted in pairs under two passe-partout.
Complete series of the story of "The wise and Foolish Virgins". Ten virgins are waiting at night for their grooms to come; five are diligently working and keeping the flame burning, the other five are neglecting their lamp while making music or dancing. Only the good virgins were able to meet their groom, who symbolised Christ. With two lines of engr. Latin text at lower margin. Good impressions with wide margins of the 1st state (of 3).
