Folio: engr. title-[12] ff.; 65 pl. (all ff. mounted on guards on the centerfold different from the usual oblong binding, minor foxing and soiling, 1 folded pl. browned, a few tears in folded pl.).

18th-c. marbled calf, gilt orn. spine with raised bands, red sprinkled edges (covers with scratches, joints, corners and edges sl. rubbed).

First edition of this illustrated account of the funeral procession of Albert Archduke of Austria (1599-1621) by E. Puteanus (1574-1646). Ill. with a very nice engr. title and 65 plates, numb. 1-64 (3 folding), by Galle after the drawings of the architect J. Francquart (1577-1651) showing all 675 people in the funeral procession with name and status, and a large folding plate showing the "Chapelle ardente". Introduction in Latin, Spanish, French and Dutch. Variant issue without name of printer on M1v (as only described in Opac KBR).
Enriched with a pl. dated 1634 from the edition of 1729 by Leonard representing Isabella's funeral crest in the church of St. James on Coudenberg.
