Rare spectacular description of the triumphal procession for the ceremony held in June 1775 to celebrate St Rumbold, the Irish monk who evangelised Mechelen in the 8th c. and who became the patron saint of the city. Illustrated with 15 large engr. folding plates by Johann and Joseph Klauber after De la Rue, G. Herreyns and J.L. Suetens, showing the 10 magnificent chariots taking part in the ceremony. The number of plates differs in each copy. Engr. Mechelen arms on dedication.
