Second continental edition (1st Basel 1791, orig. ed. 1776) and only edition to include an English translation of Turgot's "Réflexions sur la formation et la distribution des richesses" (vol. I, p. 1-68, orig. ed. 1770, 1st English trsl. in book form 1793). The translator of Turgot's treatise, one of the most important economic works of all time, is the British political economist Benjamin Vaughan (1751–1835), "an interesting figure of the Enlightenment, previously known mostly for his role in the negotiations that led to the independence of the American colonies, and for his publication of Benjamin Franklins works in 1779" (de Vivo & Sabbagh).
